I take it there's no update then.
There is some way of getting normal N95 firmware on it ... You can then just use the Nokia updates.
I am currently looking for a similar solution as I have a N95 that I need unlocked and preferably not messed up by Orange firmware. Will post here if I find anything.

yes you can update your phone with a GENERIC fw but you have to change your phones brand ie from orange n95 to generic euro.
if you change your phones brand code you will void your service providers warranty
It seems pretty easy to update the firmware, officially anyway. I got an automatic prompt to do mine one evening when I had it hooked up to transfer music.
If you load the Nokia PC suite software there's an icon at the bottom for updates that takes you to the relevant page on the Nokia site. It tells you how to check your f/w version, if there's an update available, and how to do it.
According to the Nokia site, some network branded phones are capable of taking a firmware update without it overriding all the network branding, but you have to check with your provider beforehand. I'm in no rush as mine seems to be behaving itself. I'll ring up anyway and see if I get the go-ahead, or more likely a "Nooooooooo" !
We have had a few N95 returned and replaced over the past week as it is quite buggy at the min. No doubt over the coming months the problems will be resolved but at the min I would hold back on upgrades and new connections until Nokia get the problems sorted.
I had a O2 branded N95... and wanted the new firmware on it as soon as it came out (the network specific versions are usually about 2-4 weeks behind)
if you want to change your phone to "generic" - it makes sense for orange and voda to do this because of the SIP restrictions you need to use a application called NSS to change the product code of your phone to a generic european code.. then run nokia updater.
If anyone wants more info about how i did it.. post in here and ill do some instructions
If I get one, it will be on T-Mobile, since it wont have any restrictions on VOIP (hopefully) I wont really need to change it to generic firmware if updates appear regularly even if it is a week or two behind the generic versions.
