A friend of ours has a Sharp 770SH mobile on a contract with Vodaphone. When abroad recently she returned to recieve a bill from Vodaphone for in excess of £200. This was apparrently because the phone repeatedly connected to look for new e-mail messages automatically, which is useful; if you actually use the e-mail function and need to keep in touch. our friend doesn't has never used e-mail on her mobile, and does not hove the phone set-up for e-mail. When challenged Vodaphone did eventually credit the monies, however they now say if it happens again it is her responsibility, even though the phone is disabled for e-mails in the settings menus. They do say the phone will need to be sent away for 2 weeks or more to be examined??? Has anyone had a similar issue, does anyone know how to ensure this does not happen in the future? Is there a know issue with the 770SH and a subsequent fix / flash update etc??
