    Re: LG Viewty

Yeah I found that the N95 was a bit plasticy, felt a bit cheap to be honest. I liked the feature where you can download your own applications, even a web browser where you can see the whole page and zoom in. The viewty doesnt enable you to download your own apps, but the Viewty has this full interest browser built into it.

Does anyone know what the calender functionality is like on the viewty?
Do you know if when viewing photos where or not when you move the screen to landscape that it automatically moves it for you?

    Re: LG Viewty

The Viewty has 3G on it (or hsdpa). What are the general charges for this? I'm going to go check out some phone stores today. I saw that 3 do 1gb/month for £5 which is the best deal so far, but how much bandwidth will i need? I'll probably be surfing youtube and these forums quite a bit so would 1gb be enough? Also, how much is it (on average) to surf the net without any monthly payment? Is it like 5p a minute or something?

Thats what i thought about the Viewty.
Also, if they must put a stylus with it, why not put a slot so it fits with the screen if it want to be a PDA wannabe. Nah...they give you a little keyring thing which shows lack of thought. Dont you agree?
Least with the N95, Nokia have condidered what the punter wants.

I can see the viewty being a real pain for alot of people. It looks nice but thats about it i think.

    Re: LG Viewty

I've been and had a little play with the viewty today, its lovely, but like you say, there's no slot for the stylus, and no case with it, like the prada. Also, text messaging, you can't just tap the key, you have to slightly press it...i can that becoming a bit of a pain

Im looking back towards the Sony Ericsson K850i now again....im just not keen on the look of the new one.....its too hard to make a decision...do they do a phone with a mix of the them all LOL

    Re: LG Viewty

Just got the Viewty. It's pretty cool. It'll take me a while to get my head around it as it's jumped from K810i to this, but texting is easy with the keyboard style, seems easy to press the right key even though the buttons are really small!

    Re: LG Viewty

Playing with my viewty today, i have decided that I am 100% going for the k850i. I have taken an array of picturs with the viewty and compared against my old k800i, k800i seems better in darker pics (at night clubs etc).

I prefer the se interface as well.. faster, themeable downloads, apps. and supports up to 4gb mem.

How long will it be before i brake or lose my lg stylus i wonder.. nuff said.

The viewty is a looker, not a performer.

Friend of mibne got thrown out of a nightclub for doing that.

    Re: LG Viewty

    hi all

ok ive got my viewty and had a pretty good play with it last night......

my initial thoughts ar eits very good!!! the phone is stylish and responds great.

the touchscreen is very good and works well, with either ur finger or the stylus, which is actually pretty cool not as much of a pain as youd think! the menus take a short while to get used to but once u figure them out theyre perfectly fine.....

one thing i wondered was if the alarm sounded when the phone was on silent - which it doesnt (only vibrates) - however this can be overcome with some clever profile amending, set your msg tone to off and the ringer to one or two bars volume then record quietness, set this as your ringtone and there u go, silence playin when it rings and the alram will still go off in the morning!!!

errr the camera - at first glance looks good, admittedly not as good as my k800i - but we all have to move on at some stage dont we! ive not had much time to play with it properly yet or take pics when out in a club but it looks more than substantial at first glance, the 120fps video feature is cool and quite amusing, im sure more uses will be found for it - especially with mates and when im playing snooker!!!!

one thing that is a MUST thou for the phone is the leather case!!!!! and i cant find one anywhere but thre LG site - which doesnt seem to sell them??? so if anyone can help please let me know!!!! (this would also help when the stylus is connnected to the phone)

soooooo over all im very happy with the phone, and dont plan on returning it - i jus hope i can find the leather case soon!!! n not one of the gash ones available on ebay!

    Re: LG Viewty

Looks like im going to go try out rhe viewty and have a change from SE.

Just another question though How do you get on with the predictor text? is it as easy to use as the SE? Does it know what you typed last so you can use that like the SE or not?

Im always texting on my phone, and its dead easy, just worried that its going to take slightly longer typing messages out on the viewty, any comments?

The predictor text works well, and remembers words you type even if they arent in dictionary.. useful for when typing naughty txts or angry ones

    Re: LG Viewty

thats great news, im sold on the viewty, the only problem is, O2 want me to pay £39.98 for for it on an online 30 tarriff. Does anyone know if you can go on a higher tarriff, say the online 35 to get it for free, then downgrade the tarriff after a month or two? I asked them to wave the fee being as though I have been an existing customer for ages and she just said she cant change the price on any handsets....yeah right!

    Re: LG Viewty

    hey

good choice, i thought very much the same - bit of a change and i dont regret it.

as for txting, its fine, predictive is fine although im not sure if i prefer to use the qwerty keyboard layout or the normal keypad layout yet heheh although i suppose its nice to have the choice!

err as for the predicitng the next word, im not 100% sure i thought it didnt, but then im sure before (whilst in qwerty keyboard mode) a word did pre-empt and pop up! heheh i suppose i could read the manual but seriously, that seems boring.... ill keep playing.....

....hopefully tonight when i get home i can get sum decent games on it and a movie or two joined with my brilliant "catchphrase" msg tone and a few ringtones and then im a happy chappy!!!!

    Re: LG Viewty

Well you will be disappointed becuase when i went on the o2 active website there was no games supported by your device message that i received. There is also no way to transfer java games accross like with the SE's, using the software that came with the phone.

The screen is the one saving grace about this phone. But even then, for me i thoguht nah f**k it, i got a blackberry curve from work and that works well enough for browsing facebook for me .

I want a phoen that is cool to play with not just look at.

    SE for the win

    Re: LG Viewty

You can put a larger mem. card in it although the only says its got 2gb until you put enough stuff on it when it starts to go down as i know. my m8 had a 4gb card for his and he put 3 gb of stuff and then the phone read 1gb its only compatible with 2gb because thats all the memory manager can handle so trust me this phone is the DADDY of touch screen the Iphone dosent have nething on this. thank you
