    Re: LG Viewty

jimmy - The phone doesnt turn off when charging, but i have only charged using usb cable, i cant vouch for the usb wall charger.

The alarm when in silent mode just vibrates which is a little annoying.

I was really considering the N95 yesterday as o2 said i could have that and a 8gb mem card for free.

I'm still deciding what to do, on the plus side... the LG's screen is awesome.. I can put two films on the phone and the quality is good.

I have taken some photos with the phone and i must admit the camera is awesome.

The interface could use some tweaking, but theres just something about this phone that makes it cool to use.

The web browser is elite, and the fact that o2 make facebook and myspace free to browse to until the end of the year is ultra cool.

I would like to think that with a firmware upgrade the phone could become more customisable, ie themes etc...

    Re: LG Viewty

    recoil,

thanks for the feedback....... 1/2 good news although the alram thing is annoying! still i suppose ill have to use an alarm clock instead! hehehe not the end of the world!!!!

well recoil ive made my decision and taken the plunge....

the main reasons being, ive noticed a big influx of sightings of the N95 so im thinking its gonna be another k800i and be EVERYWHERE within the next few months, i think the viewty will be a little more special and not as many people will have it .....

ALSO...a MAJOR factor for me was the benefit of a xerox flash over the much worse LED light, mainly cos i use my camera alot in low light conditions, bars, clubs etc....

there were other reasons to do with my contract and wanting a new number - which i ended up not getting and stayin with orange, also vodafone DO NOT do this phone direct, although u can get it on vadofone from phones 4 you.

also ive owned an LG phone before not a top of the range one but it was good and got me thru my time in australia! in fact ive still got it now and am using it at the moment temporarily cos my k800i broke!

i do think thou im gonna try get hold of the pouch for my viewty asap i think its a must have!

anyway it arrives on mon hopefully so ill keep you posted!

    cheers

    Re: LG Viewty

    Just an update...

I had feedback from o2 today and now the N81 will be offered at £19.99 for o2 upgrading customers. I think the phone choice now really does boil down to personal preference.

Gawd.... do i stick with my lg or go with the n81... hmmm

Guy at work put a 6gb card in his and only 2gb is usable - the LG website says 2gb limit and looks like they are not lying.

but how did you get the information the 6gb wasn't usable, I read that it will only say it only has 2gb, but will use the whole card and will say for example 1.9gb after using 4.1gb up, any chance you could check that?

    Re: LG Viewty

    Hi there..

Im seriously thinking of gettin the viewty, but I have a few questions about it.....

Can you set music as your ring tone?
Can you set downloaded tones as your message alert?
Whats the battery life like on it?
Can you sort your photos into albums and they when going into images see your albums first? (On the N95 when you go into images you see all your photos, it doesnt matter what album they are in...then you can go into albums from there...pointless I think)

    Cheers Guys

    Re: LG Viewty

I had one and hated it as it felt cheap and nasty.
Returned it to 3 and they sent me the N95 instead.

Basically the Viewty is trying to be a PDA when it clearly isnt.
The batteries on LG phones are notoriously poor aswell. The Sony Ericssons have the longest lasting batteries i find.

The N95 doesnt exactly what it says on the tin with an expensive feel and thats why i change out for it.

Have you recieved the n95 yet? imo they feel particularly plasticy, although that may just be because im used to my tytn, and phones with metal cases (heavy things always feel better). Although it is a good phone, the gps implementation isnt all its cracked up to be, and the screen is too small to be of any use for web browsing.
