Am currently with T-Mobile and have the HTC Kaiser(or vario 3 as they call it).
As I have an unlimited internet usage on the phone, I just wondered if there was an easy way I can route a text to a mobile abroad via the web(and therefore text would be free).
I don't want to have to go to a website on the phone and do it, I'd prefer to be able to send like a normal text but to send it differently so it goes via web to the mobile.
Is this possible? How easy is it?

Well, i think if you did that then the recieving phone would need to be connected to an internet connection too. And if that's the case, then just send an email? (some phones let you send emails in the text editor for instance). Not sure if they charge though - presumably nay!
There are of course options via websites - like orange give me 30 texts a month that i can send online.
What I wanted to do is replicate what you can do from a pc, which is send a normal style text from a website to a mobile. On the recieving mobile, it appears the same as any other text, so wouldn't need an internet connection.

you would need a custom text applet to do this, you can't configure the handset to do it by default.
I haven't heard of such an app, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
orange/o2 let you send online texts so you should be able to......
maybe t-mob are funny though

Sending txts messages abroad costs the same as if they were in the UK, sure its wortht he hassle of routing it via the web?
if your abroad on T-MOBILE, sending a pic messages anywhere else in the world still costs the same (20p?) but it is included WITHIN your allowance, so it works out very nicely (pic + 1000 characters)
I have family abroad, which is why I send texts and pics abroad.
I emailed T-Mobile and the reply back I got was that sending texts etc outside UK is not included in your allowance so you are charged seperately for it. This is why I want to route it via the web.

Id give them a ring and double check that, i send txt messages abroad all the time and im sure iv never been charged!
If you are sending it to a UK phone that happens to be abroad then standard text rate applies (or doesn't if you get free texts). If however it is a non-Uk phone then you will probably be charged quite a lot for it. An exception to this would be phones in Europe as the EU has been clamping down on cross border and roaming charges recently.
