Talking Iphone 4 or Samsung Wave

i'm just curious to know how everyone feel about the two phone models Apple Iphone 4 and Samsung Wave
both of them are very well equipped in terms hardware capabilities, and after hearing the fact iphone 4 is going to be available contract free, it seems it'll be a matter of ones liking that eventually make one of these devices superior than thee other

    UP's of both(things what I know of)

Touch screen is fully optimized cool ui
    720p video
    5mp cam

    Up’s of wave

    Super AMOLED screen
    1ghz ARM A8 chip
    Expandable memory
    Social network hub

    Up’s of Iphone

    Huge apps store
    Crispier screen

    so...what's your pick and why?

Re: Iphone 4 or Samsung Wave

Skip the Wave. Bada is not a serious smartphone platform.

Anyway, the iPhone 4 has the same CPU, so it's not an advantage for the Wave.

Re: Iphone 4 or Samsung Wave

    i'll just add more detail
i never really made the jump from non-touch to touch mobiles, after seeing how horrible s60 v5 was and and how great and easy iOS(or whatever they called it before in earlier iphones) i wanned a fancy responsive iOS like os that had standard features like beaming via bluetooth ,file management etc, of plain feature mobiles in a single device. Wave seem to have that..

Bada may not be aimed at android rather iOS is it's target, strange to see that iphone 4 is going to be given sim free,i mean sure it's good for peeps in countries where iphone is not given on contract, or where there are not contract based(with phone) service providers.

i'm not totally against Iphones i kinda like it because of the sim free statement,if wave doesn't show up soon here, i'm getting a iphone ...to see whats all the magic about

Re: Iphone 4 or Samsung Wave

Comparing Bada to iOS is comparing a Power Wheels car to an Aston Martin. There's no comparison. Bada is not a real Smartphone OS. At best, call it a high-end Feature Phone OS.

If they had continued to only offer it locked to networks or even a single network like it was originally, Apple would have drawn too much attention from the EU for being anti competitive.

A big plus to the Wave is price. £310 vs £499.

Yeah, but that money buys you a decent Android phone, which has actual apps available

I know, I wouldn't touch a Samsung device no matter what the OS, but I was just highlighting the difference between the two devices specifically asked about

Re: Iphone 4 or Samsung Wave

With what's out at the moment I wouldn't even be considering the Samsung Wave. If you like Samsung phones the Galaxy S should be making it to the UK at some point, probably around the same time the iPhone 4 arrives.

I'd highly recommend having a good play with a HTC Desire, I am loving mine! Otherwise there is the Nexus One (which is near identical to the Desire), which has updates direct from Google, so you will always have the latest version soonest!

I would wait and see what comes up around the time of the iPhone 4 launch, I'm sure there will be a new set of phones coming up. WinMo 7 and Android 2.2 will be rolling out about the same time, so choose carefully!

The Galaxy S is expensive. The original Galaxy, though, is pretty cheap now.

    +1

I saw the title and I almost thought maybe it was a mistake. Why would you match the Wave against it?

galaxy s on contract is the way to go imho - through vodafone £40 x 18 = £720 which is my book is always better than paying £450 - £500 upfront and then £20pcm or wotever it'll turn out to be

Re: Iphone 4 or Samsung Wave

iPhone 4 will probably more expensive but it does do the same if not more than the Samsung wave.

iOS is also a really good operating system also compared to the propietary system that Samsung uses. Not to mention the iPhone has the App Store which is the biggest App Store on the planet.

The camera is more or less the same quality but the iPhone 4 does have the front facing camera with the FaceTime ability which is free over WiFi.

I think you should pick the iPhone 4!
