Reccomendations for a simple phone for calling and texting

    Hi all,

I've not bought a new phone for a few years now, but my w810i is showing its age - battery's gone, camera no longer works and the battery cover just won't stay on. This thing is absolutely perfect for me, so could somebody suggest a replacement?

What I love about my ickle Sony:

    • Needs charging once a week
    • Has a torch
    • That's it

I'll be buying the phone by itself - I'm off to France for 6 months soon so no contracts. Thanks for your suggestions!

Hey Brammers, just spotted this on Hot UK Deals:

I loved my W810i and this looks like a cheap decent replacement

I had the W580i which i thought was awesome! Wicked fun phone, then I gave into the whole smart phone deal

But seriously I loved how this phone worked and it's fun how it slides out!

Are you strictly a Sony Ericson user?
Or will you opt for other brands?

There isn't many phones I know of today that has a real torch, you mean a flashlight right? The old Sony Ericcson's seem to all have it. Some of the new smartphones have it with apps that you can download... but i doubt those phones can survive through a week with only 1 charge...

Also if you like your phone so much have you considered just buying the same one?

Re: Reccomendations for a simple phone for calling and texting

From my experience i would avoid the w580i since i have seen a lot of people to have somehow break the phone due to poor build quality.
Well heres another cheap deal the W205,all phones in carphonewarehouse are all unlocked i believe apart from the iphone or something:
