I bought this: well i cant post urls, but its called 'BLACK / Red Dual Hard Case Cover Apple iPhone 4 4G UK' on ebay if you want to look. Cost a fiver, looks pretty cool but i also but a screen protector on the front and back of the phone, i think they are called dual protectors, fits front and back, because when i had a 3GS grit got behind the case and scratched it. So, no matter what case you get, unless its really tight, you should probably put something between the case and phone to prevent the pitting on the case.

My wife uses an iPhone 4, and no matter what case she ever buys she always manages to break one way or another. Even cases which claim to be highly shock proof and so on don't give the type of protection you would expect for the money you pay. I have always found the iPhone (and iPod for that matter) to be really rather feble when it comes to taking hits.

I have the incase perforated case which is sweet, for the 3gs im sure they have it for iphone 4 aswel

You should just be a cheapo and get a front and rear screen protector, and a round bumper. i got all 3 of these for under a fiver on ebay and my phones still perfect condition

I tried one of the "jelly" cases and it was awful - clunky, nasty to hold and didn't protect the screen either.
So I ended up with a screen protector and the Krusell Vinga case - it's leather, very stiff so gives good protection, not bulky, and easy to get the phone out of with the pull up tab. You can just sling the phone in yr pocket or bag and know it'll be OK.

Beyzacases do a really nice leather pouch style case for Iphone 4 which is what I use. Very minimal, accessible and stylish. I also used bodyguardz skin on the back and the sides for extra peace of mind.

I went for a bumper style case to protect the edges and a screen protector, will probably get one of those leather slip cases at some point, saddleback leather do some rather lovely ones, just need to justify the cost first!

It would be funny for you, but I will tell you about the protection of iPhon. You are asking for the case which can protect your iPhon, but you dont know that iPhone goes skydiving without a parachute and survives. I know you people won't believe this. Well that was just a miracle we should say, if this story is true. Any ways, there is wide veriety of cases to protect iPhone. You can select anyone that suite your model whether its 3 or 4.

Gear4 cases always sem a bit cheap to me but i do like PhoneDevil Protectors

Don't get a bumper from apple, they're terribly overpriced. Don't worry too much about your iphone, the material is very durable and a simple case should do, like a leather pouch of some sort

Bumper style cases work great, just make sure you use a screen protector with it

tbh I wouldn't just go for a cheap case off Ebay. I've had my iphone 4 since launch and went through numerous 99p cases off ebay. I used a hard shell back protectors and a clear screen guard on the front.

Beauty is if you get bored with the case after a few months, inexpensive to replace.
