Tmobile have loads of decent phones on offer for £15, Sony x8, x10mini pro few nokias etc at the mo and im keen on getting a new moby but ill never use 300 mins - are they flexible at all? Could i change the 300mins to say a 100mins and get 500 texts? never had a contact before so i dunno if the offer advertised iss the only way to go

If you phone them up, they're usually quite helpful.

Im with Orange, not T-mobile, but when i renewed they were quite flexible

    Are you stuck with T-Mobile?
If not, then i got this for my daughter 2 weeks ago from 3.

    - Sony X10 Mini Pro
    - 100 X Network Minutes
    - 5000 Texts
    - 500mb Data

    £15 per month.

Hard pushed to beat that. Also, don't forget the £50 cashback through Quidco.

It is a good deal but the 3 network is pretty poor. I used 3 a few years back and more often than not I could never get a decent signal.

Personally, what I would do if you're looking for a cheap deal and not too bothered about the phone then I'd go for a sim only deal usually cost between £5 - £10 pm but gives you like 900mins unlimited text, 500mb data etc. Go through quidco and you'll get £100 cashback. With that cashback you could buy a decent PAYG phone.

Firstly, how can you say they are poor, and then in the same breath mention it was 'years back'.......as years back means you know nothing about them now.

So the CS isn't amazing, but then Vodaphone and Orange are every bit as poor.

Can you honestly say they've improved in the space of two years? Doubt it. The reason why 3 are able to offer such preferential deals is because they sacrafice the costs from elsewhere in the business.

Vodaphone and Orange are not every bit as poor at all. I've been with both operators and I'm currently with Voda. Doing just fine for me. Complained I had poor battery life on my 9700. Gave me £25 to buy a new one. I wanted free landline calls half way through my contract, gave me that too.

And coverage wise, 3 are cack.

Ring up and get a personalised quote (as suggested above). Don't forget to let us know what you went for and what deal you got. Also, consider buying the phone and getting a SIM-only deal - I just made a post about Chitter Chatter (see this forum or Google) but I'm not sure if they can sell to you if you are already with T-mobile. See how much each choice will cost in total after, say, 1 year.

I have 3 contracts with them, and had them for 5+ years, so yes i can say that.
Complained I had poor battery life on my 9700. Gave me £25 to buy a new one
Any operator does this to keep your business. My E72 broke down and they replaced it with a new one within 4 working days (and i had no insurance).
I wanted free landline calls half way through my contract, gave me that too
I have always had free landline calls

And coverage wise, 3 are cack
    Sorry, but that is rubbish.
    1. The mobiles I have are no worse than Orange at least. My company BB9700 is on Orange, and the coverage for that is far inferior.
    2. Three mobile BB has the best coverage for any mobile interent provider. It's all over the net (and mine is fine aswell).

If you haven't got a Three contract(s), you are just plucking information out of thin air with zero recent experience.

    And so are you

3 signal can be poor depending on where you are i had a 3 mobile sim for 1 week last year and i signal was dog awful (i am on the south coast) the Cs was ok they did apologise and cancelled my contract and said that coverage just wasn't that good in my area.

Your Both right signal can be bad in some areas as can Cs for some people it all depends on who you get in the phone.

Both of you are going way off though the guy wants help with a decent contract not an argument over providers.

OP if you look about i know o2 do it and some of the others you can see an actual coverage map for your area for things like 3G.

Also in terms of your deal if you phone T mobile they will chuck in a free booster unlimited texts or internet or similar.

I am currently paying £15 a month for
    300 mins
    unlimted texts
    unlimted (3gb) internet

and when i took it out i paid £38 for a half decent smartphpone

As you might expect, I believe these can be very unreliable: if it says good coverage, you may still get awful coverage. On the other hand, if it says bad coverage, you probably know it will be bad!

The best way is to find friends who are on different networks and check their signal (including 3G and actually making calls) in the areas where you will use your phone the most. However, note that the phone can impact signal strength.

This is also another reason to buy an unlocked phone and get a 30 day rolling SIM-only deal - you can switch through providers for the first few months if you have problems; you can switch to a 12 month SIM-only contract once you have found one that works. Phones are expensive like this but, again, check how much you will have paid in total after, say, 1 year. I assume its harder to get better deals (that aren't advertised) like this though.

I'm currently on 300mins, Unlimited texts & Unlimited i-net with a Samsung Jet - £20. I'm sure you could get something similar if not better.
