Coming to the end of my contract

I currently am on contract with Orange. I was thinking of going onto payg as my monthly bills are too high at the moment(£70per month)

However, when I rang up to disconnect the bloke offered me 120 xnet mins and 200 texts per month for £25 plus a free upgrade. Do you think this is worth it or should I hold out for more? I use about 200 minutes a month and about 270 texts. Is this available anywhere else cheaper so I can haggle with the guy?

Also, if I do take the offer, what phone would people recommend. I currently have a Samsung e700, and while I like it, I do fancy a change!!

For £30 a month orange do 200 free min any network any time and 500 free text a month with a free phone. Go for that deal.

Shop around, see what else you can find on the net (especially direct from the likes of O2).

You might find a better deal or a phone you really like the look of. Either way, it's a bargaining tool when you go back to Orange to see what they'll offer you.

As for what phone to recommend, it really depends on what features you're looking for, what form-factor you prefer and how much of a budget you've got within your free phone allowance.

Only downside is that it's an 18month contract, but that's not too much of an issue.

All the networks customise the operating systems of their phones..

Voda often go one step further though and totaly change the firmware if they can. Its 100 times worse than branding

Do you know if the 500 texts 200 mins for £30 is just an online deal or can I get it in a Vodafone store? If so I might head down this afternoon and get myself a s700i. Especially as I have seen ways on the internet to unbrand them!!

technically it's online only, but my local store was going to match it..

Only reason I didn't do it was because they wouldn't let me port my number across

Only thing with that is I will have to take time off work for the delivery and I don't really want to do that.
