    Orange GPRS WAP/Orange Internet

Got a new Nokia 7610 week or so ago... The contract is with Orange... Your Plan 200 - 200 Anytime Xnet Mins.

Just got around to installing Agile Messenger today and it works nicely, very very impressed...

Its the first time i've taken the 7610 online though... Now, looking at the phone settings, there are four access points ....

    • G Orange GPRS WAP
    • G Orange Internet
    • G Orange MMS
    • D Orange WAP

I'm wondering about the first two... I understand both use GPRS, so i'm always connected and only pay for whats sent/received.. But whats the difference between GPRS WAP and plain old Internet... I know Orange runs High Speed Data connection.. Is that what the second one is? And also, is there a difference in price.... Basically whats the recommended connection for Agile Messenger?

Oh, and one last lil thing I'm sure I read somewhere before that its best to change GPRS setting from When Needed to When Available, is this recommended?

    Thanks

Use G Orange Internet. It's the one used for collecting e-mail, etc.

GRPS WAP is just for WAP/web use. You might find that Orange has blocked most ports on it to stop you using it for other things. You should find that they both get charged at the same rate (free allowance and then £2/MB).

Ummmm.... I'd like to hear the justification for that, it depends on what your primary concern is (speed/money/etc). I'd personally leave it on When Needed.

Agile Messenger is a very cool little program. It really improves your texting speed.
