Just what i was thinking. The software is dire. Java based mp3 that takes an hour to lad then crashes. Its the same rubbiush motorola have always been using- when will they learn.... probably not until people stop buying fashion phones for their looksOriginally Posted by dangerous_dom
SE's are notorius for this! Thats the main reason i wont have one.Originally Posted by Caged
Not the ideal solution, but you can take the K750i apart to clean the inside screen and joystick. It's usually dust that stops the joystick working.
Joysticks have always been crap on Sony Ericsson phones.. I noticed it with my T630, and other people's T610s, K700s, K750s etc that I used. Get a Samsung tbh

Yes I will just go and lay down £250 to pay for a phone. I'm getting this replaced, if it goes faulty in a few months like my current one, then thats a bargaining chip I have with Orange to maybe move to a D600, they will soon get bored of sending me replacement K750i's.Originally Posted by Howard
I have all these problems too. Firmware is R1A044. O2 did a recall on these but I never sent mine in because it was fine. I've got insurance so do you reckon they'd replace it or give me a D600?
When i was with Orange a few years ago they were brilliant. Replaced my 8210 9 times. Each time it came by motorbike and usually within 12 hours. After about 3 replacements they did offer me a different model, even a more expensive one, but there was nothing like as nice as the 8210 at the time. And they were the only network that would properly match other network deals and beat them at the time. If only they had signal where i live. I don't know what they are like these days, but i used to love Orange.
They will replace it, probably in store. You won't need insurance, what do you think warranties are for. It would probably take a few faulty K750i's before they let you get a D600.Originally Posted by technophreak
Have you tried updating the firmware using SEUS?
You've no idea how many people gave me funny looks when I said I was going to get my phone replaced and that I had no insurance. Orange could have couriered me a new phone by tomorrow morning, but it would be pretty inconvenient being in halls to arrange that. I'll phone them up and action that return when I get back home.Originally Posted by dangerous_dom
Yeah, you only need insurance if it's acidental damage, thieft or loss. All the problems in your original post will be covered by the 12 month warranty.
Mobile phone insurance is a rip off anyway. Anyone with any sense will have home contents insurance, which should cover your phone (in most cases better, as mobile insurance often does not cover loss).
The excess on O2 for each claim is £25. On top of that it's £10 a month. Thats £120 a year. Now as my phone is on my home insurance (which i have anyway, because i have a brain) and has an excess of £50, i can claim at least 4 times a year and still works out much cheaper. If i need to claim more than 4 times a year, i probably should not own one.

I'm on an O2 Online tariff. As such, O2 stores normally tell me to go through O2 customer service directly. I'll phone up a local store tomorrow morning. ThanksOriginally Posted by dangerous_dom
You might need to phone O2 online so they can phone the store first, but it should not be a problem. I am on O2 online, but have replaced and upgraded phones in the store (actually upgraded over the phone but picked up the phone in a store). The only thing you cant do is get the online tarrif in a store in the first place. I know they never used to let you do this, but they seem to be a bit more easy going now as is it was putting customers off.Originally Posted by technophreak
Ah thanks. Do you know of a cheaper way to phone O2 Online other than the premium rate support number?
0870 6003009 is the only one i know. There is a website that has a massive list of normal landline numbers for loads of companies (including O2 i think), but i dont know it sorry.
