N73 - slow file transfer rate

I received my N73 on Monday, bought a mini-SD card today and started to copy songs. for about 1G of music it gave me 30minutes! Isn't USB-2 supposed to be realllly fast? I'm sure I've done similar in a couple of minutes with good USB sticks, etc.

Do I need a seperate hi-speed drive to do decent transfers?

Why haven't they included a hi-speed USB chip in there...

Otherwise it's a fantastic phone, screen is great, camera is awesome, interface is nice. Only issue I have is a little slow sometimes, and music player could have an easier interface/quickplay button. I'll have to get the media headset for the skip track when media player is minimised.

How are you transferring the files? If you're doing it through Nokia PC Suite then it will be slow because the data has to go via a very indirect route.

However, all modern Symbian phones support USB Mass Storage mode and that should give you full USB 2.0 speeds. Unless you've set a default in the options (Connections -> Data Cable -> Data Cable mode), the phone will ask you which mode you wish to use everytime you plug the data cable in. If you select "Data transfer" then the phone will show up as a regular drive under My Computer and everything should work nice and fast.

If you're already doing this then I have no idea what's wrong.

    Yeah, i'm using Mass Storage.
Might be the USB on the PC itself - I've only used the work PC so far. Any way to find out which ports are hi-speed and which are not? In the Hardware Manager there's only one which is down as USB2
