    Need advise on my rig...

my pc has a good components on it and running just fine... just been thinking about how much it will perform if it will be setup more properly... (im not that familiar on setting up a computer) and guys here just set it up normally... i cant see any "cool features" running... i mean with overclocking, raid, and any other upgrading that you can recommend for me at a minimal cost but will give my pc at least 50% boost!

for now you i am running with xp 32 bits platform but my motherboard supports 64 bits as they claim... haven't tried it yet... i am using my pc mostly on cga (renderings and stuffs that needs a very good rendering engine... i am relying on nvidia 7600 gs for the meantime but not that happy about it... hexus mentioned in their review about gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 that this board cannot support SLI but in the board manual they claim they r SLI ready! Now I am confused which is true...

it stopped me from buying an additional graphic card though... and by the way, which grapchic card shld i buy then? dont like nvidia afterall... i prefer 512MB but not that expensive huh... let us say around $300...

The main performance increase you would gain from is a vga card upgrade. You wouldnt need to spend alot to get a noticeable performance increase over the 7600GS.

I dont really know what you could get for $300, but somthing like a 7950GT or x1950 are available at very good prices now and would give you a nice boost.

Another big increase you will benefit from is overclocking your CPU. You should be able to get 3Ghz out of that chip - although Im not sure what that motherboard is capable of.

It doesn't support SLi, but it DOES support Crossfire, ATi's equivalent So go for it!

I'd suggest a good cooler, make sure your case has adequate cooling too if you overclock. Clunk's guide in HW is comprehensive!

tnx for the replies guys! i am very certain on upgrading my video card but don't know what is best and yet practical... is it better for me to buy the same card and benefit on the crossfire feature or i will replace my nvidia7600 GS with a new ati good graphic card? how much boost i would i benefit on crossfire? rather than buying a better video card?

and for overclocking issue, is it reli safe for me to overclocked my pc? my tower has a 3 pcs fan inside and my motherboard seems pretty okay with regards on cooling... can you give me at least a good example of overclocking values... tnx

hey there guys! hope all is well and great! lol
just confused about those overclocking applications came along with my motherboard ie.. easytune and vtune... which is better to do the tweaking? from bios or from these applications? i'd love to follow the guide of clunk coz' it is very interesting and sounds cool to do some tweaking and get some results after! lol need to read it and grasp the idea though... for 10 times maybe... lol can i send you some pics of my current bios for now clunk? most probably you can suggest anything... to give you some info... i am using my pc on rendering and 3d apps and i think overclocking it will help me a lot... peace! lol
