A Celeron D might do the job on server boxes that don't do any real heavy work, if it's just for storage, this is fine, even running software RAID 5. As for Operating Systems, don't forget GNU/Linux, *BSD, and Solaris, technically these are all more sound server OSes than windows

The term Server means proper grade system (at least to me), especially if we are talking 2 Terrabytes. And yes sorry from a Microsoft certified partner i've got my MS head on. Plenty of other good OS's out there, Redhat etc too

Doubt he'll be back tbh. My prediction of yesterday's events: crash and burn.

Weird I have never noticed this thread before, silly silly OP.

I imagine it didnt go well, I particularly like that there was no mention of what network equipment was to be used and in what configuration, well I skimmed reading it but didnt see anything.

Lets not knock the Celeron D's, I have one and it does fine, well for storing my personal porn collection.

So if you ever do read this OP, how did it go? and When are Dell/HP/IBM delivering the servers he ordered after firing you?
