Mac OS emulation on windows

Hello all

Does anyone know of a program or similar that would allow me to run a Mac program on a windows XP machine. The reason for this is that for my thesis i am rewriting a program that was written quite a while ago for Mac OS and it will only run on up to Mac OS9. So to save me having to go to the university labs and for general convenience i was wondering if anyone could suggest something that would allow me to run the program on my windows machine, if this is even possible.

there are a few mac emmulators, "Pear PC" is one,

You'll still need a copy of mac ox 9 though

it is also possible to install mac OSX onto a normal pc or virtual PC.

apple's EULA strictly states that you must only use apple-made hardware

and IIRC, comes with DRM to try and ensure that.

I think that there are emulators that you need an old mac to get the ROM image from a mac you legitimately own along with a copy of the operating system.

I thought MacOS 9 was PPC only ?

You can't install Mac OS 9 PPC into an X86 box.

Pear PC will emulate PPC on X86 (pretty slowly, I believe).

yes, thats why I said Pear PC, not "you can install Mac OX on any PC"

I was making the distinction that Mac OS now is Intel, however the origional poster wanted PPC - hence why I said Pear.

Maybe - but as Apple uses the Trusted Platform Module to limit the use of there OS on their hardware, they have effectively enforced the EULA.

There are certain images floating around that strip TPM restrictions, it's just another in a (very) long line of DRM failures that only hurt the legitimate customers.
