Welcome to the world of windows, I dont really mess about installing demo's and trials etc on my PC, it gets used for the same things day in day out and I reinstall my OS at least twice a year so I'd get used to the faffing, reinstalling and upgrading side of things...
I used to do that too. But Vista seems a bit more stable in that way. This PC has had Vista on it for about 8 months and is still going strong. If there is one way I think Vista is definitely superior to XP it is in regards to not gradually getting slower and more corrupt as time goes on. It's only early days of course but this PC just doesn't seem to be falling apart like PC's always seem to do with XP.

I think we all seem to agree on the majority of things. Our differences are relatively minor I think.

Like splash said. Don't pay for two OS's Vista has it's problems but for the average user there really aren't any showstoppers. Yes you get slow hdd transfer's with large files but the majority of that is being sorted in SP1. I've not seen the problem after installing RC1 but if people say it's still happening then it must still be happening. But as it only happens with large file transfers it's hardly something most people are going to be having to deal with every day.

Really, I've found its the same on the 2 machines at work that have Vista Business on them, I've noticed it and not said anything to the users and one of them has mentioned that its slowing down, maybe its the user getting used to stuff maybe not...
