Recently lost shortcuts in Vista start menu

A process on my PC caused the default shortcuts in the start menu to be lost. Help me restore the programs which go under the application menus, ie. mail etc.

So do I need to reinstall vista? Come on. I can't remember which programs go under the installed programs in classic start menu. Is the solution to add them manually, if so where can I get a link to a default start menu screen grab?

Re: Recently lost shortcuts in Vista start menu

It was installing cyberlink powerdvd ultra which caused items in my start menu to dissappear. The installation also made my drive thrash about constantly, which can damage the servo over time. I have later found out through research on the net that this version does not handle normal DVD's well. Now I cannot uninstall it, as i'm met with an error through add remove programs. it's also hacked off a piece of the start menu. Are there any ideas to fix this? Atm this is just vicious for a 60 quid program, and obviously I can't send it back due to sw licencing.
