Vista folder issue

Hi guys.

I'm having a stupid problem with vista home premium x64.

When I set up folder options in individual folders (i.e., view details, sort by type or whatever) it never remembers and seems to revert or change them to silly things. So my computer I like to have view as tiles grouped by type, but it keeps changing to view as list unsorted. And for some ungodly reason, it changes other folders i.e. the C: drive to view like a picture folder!

I change these time and time and time again and it just reverts to whatever the hell it feels like, normally very stupid combinations. Argh! And now its not bringing up folder options (i.e. it asks if its pictures and videos or just all files), its just forcing me to try and view it as pictures. This means when you are viewing with details you cant sort by modified or size, instead you sort by 'rating' and 'date taken'.

I honestly don't know where this bug has come from it's really unusual!

This is a frustrating issue.

I went through the (manual) steps in the link posted above a month or 2 ago, and Vista started to remember my folder settings. Then in the last couple of weeks it has started to forget again.

I have the feeling that some windows update has caused this to be lost - maybe by re-instating the registry keys. Looks like I'll have to run through it again...
