Thread: no start bar or task manager

    Okay guys, he had the virus and to get rid of it he reformatted. The current issue is that he has no start bar.

    Mate, you haven't said what operating system you're running so it's a no-starter so far anyway.

    Try mousing into the corners to see if the start bar has been set to 'Auto Hide'. If it now pops up, right click on it and uncheck 'Auto Hide' (2000/XP[?]). It might just be really small. See if clicking on the edges and dragging thme out does.

    I *think* XP has some fugly options enabling you to hide the start bar and program icons completely. Try right clicking on the desktop and have a gander at the options that brings up.

    right i cant find a patch to patch my windows xp with service pack on , anyone help

    I ran this on a mates machine that got hit.....
    Came up with no results, although patching the box did stop the restarts...

    i also reccomend a file search for msblast.exe and a registary search for it as well

    Yes and I too came up with no virus detected, but then I couldnt find any of the mentioned file names associated with MBlast either.
