    Question Spotify Virus?

Hi, and sorry if this is in the wrong forum

Mcafee has decided to delete Spotify accusing it of being a W32/IRCbot.gen.z .

I find it bizarre, is it possible that it is actually virus invested or is it just Mcaffee being a bit too cautious? I mainly came on here to ask if anyone else has this? Would be particularly interesting if another scanner has also picked this up.

    Cheers, Olie: eek:

It's just typically retarded heuristics, it's common with McAffee, Norton, etc.

    Re: Spotify Virus?

send it to the lab to get the fp fixed.
    vsample[AT]avertlabs.com

use winrar or winzip and add the password virus
may want to encrpt file names as well or it may decline it.

put subjust as FP and a brieft discription in the body text.

Dono how quickly it will be fixed.

im always used to Kaspersky's less than an hour reply and fix;d

may as well send the file to newvirus(at) kaspersky (dot) (com) as well to be sure.

It's not the same as sending it for proper analysis but also upload it to http://www.virustotal.com/

Here's the email address lodore posted, clickable : newvirus@kaspersky.com and vsample@avertlabs.com
