I've had to recently perform a repair on my XP SP3 installation and in the process something has happened to Windows Desktop Search 4.0
The small magnifying glass icon pulsates as usual which I assume means its indexing. However, if try to perform a search either using the search bar in the taskbar or through Start/Search I get the following error:
Search-ms: query:
The parameter is incorrect
I've tried to uninstall WDS 4 but can't because it doesn't appear in Add/Remove programs and I've also tried reinstalling WDS 4 but I still get the same error. If I right click the magnifying glass the menu comes up as usual (I can snooze indexing etc. the only thing that doesn't work is the "indexing status" option which normally brings up a small window in the bottom right of the screen.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance
