    Windows Mail

    Hi,

I am using Windows Mail 6.0.6000.16386 (Vista), which seems to have an overactive spam filter (?) which deletes emails before I can open them and then there is no way to find them. So here's how the scenario unfolds. I open my laptop and click on send and receive. Perhaps 20 new emails appear in my inbox, and, before my very eyes, Windows Mail will delete sometimes 25% of them (e.g. 5), in a matter of seconds, before I can even discern what I have lost. They do not show up in the Deleted Items category. They are simply spirited away forever. I even tried logging on directly to my Cpanel email server, but those emails are gone forever. Can anyone help me resolve this problem?

Previously I used Mozilla Thunderbird which worked great for me and am now thinking of switching back.

    thank you,

    Jordan Van Voast

    Re: Windows Mail

On the Tools menu, click "Junk Email Options"

Uncheck the "Permanently delete" option at the bottom

Now all suspected junk will go into your "Junk E-mail" folder instead of being deleted

Thank you...not sure how I missed that, but will give it a try. That seems the likely solution to me too.
