    Need to learn IIS basics...

Firstly, don't tell me to use linux and/or Apache because I have to use IIS. Not my choice sadly.

Anyone know any good sites that will help me with the basics, ie setting it up and securing etc. I've tried google but don't get anything good enough.

Im used to apache so IIS is just so different and I havn't the faintist idea where to start!

Oh btw. Its running IIS v6 on win 2003 standard if that makes any difference.

For a general overview of IIS, Microsoft is a good place to start.

There's a "getting started" section, and the "server administration guide" should provide lots of information.

My personal advice, which I use for pretty much any software, is to never use the default locations - preferably not the system drive, and ideally a dedicated volume.

A couple of days tinkering with IIS to get hands-on experience is worth a lot more than reams of information which just overload you, if you've got a dev environment then use that to get a handle on it before attempting to deploy live.
