Question Need advice on XP install to Sata drives on a raid config

Feel a little odd asking this but I suppose this is what forums are for ehh

I have always installed windows on a basic IDE setup and never this way so I thought I'd ask for a few tips.

    Just purchased the following components.

    939 - 3500 AMD
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum WI FI Board
    1 Gb (2 x 512 Mb) Corsair TwinX PC3200XLPT
2 x 74Gb Western Digital Raptor Enterprise Sata Drives.
    Gainward 6800 Ultra

I would like to install XP on a raid config without having to install it on an Ide drive.

Can anyone give me any tips on how and what steps I should take or point me in the right direction of a good tutorial. Just don't want to get it wrong.

    Cheers

    tis easy mate.

you insert your xp cd, it boots from the cd, you then press f6 to install scsi/raid drivers.

    Carry on with windows.

Easy, then you can set up the raid after i believe

hm no, you can't set up raid 0 on existing drives

first of all, during system pre-boot, you'll have the option of going into the RAID BIOS - it might be ctrl-f1 or something. in there, you can create the drive array you wish to use.

when you have an array created, boot the windows cd, and press f6 when presented with the option, to load extra disk controller drivers. feed it a floppy disk containing the raid driver (the driver cd may contain the floppy files in a folder, a file called something like opemsetup.txt should be on the root of the disk), and pick the right controller form the list. when the driver is loaded, you should be able to install windows normally.
