'Simple' excel help please, merging data..

Hi,

I have two excel files here or workbooks,

with a whole list of things in column A

and then another list of items in another workbook column A again.

Now is it possible to merge these two so the ones that are repeated are not 'pasted' twice..

errrm.. not entirely, unfortunately, can you explain any further? you want to concatenate the second column below the first column, but remove any cells from the second 'column' that have an equal value in the first 'column'.

yeah think you got it right,

basically got two list of names, about 100 of them approx and i know some of them are going to be the same in both list.

is there a quick way of joining both list withing having 2 of the duplicates...

I think you might want to take a look at the vlookup function within excel. Although the explanation in the help is a bit mindboggling it should do what you want.
