    Just have your SATA driver diskette handy...
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    hey kez the WinXP boot floppies worked thanks, but what happens when they have finished is it comes to a screen where i have three options! First one is continue with the WinXP installation and to press enter, second is press R to repair a WinXP installation and the last one is just press F3 to quit with out installing XP!

    The thing is when i click to do any of the first two it tells me that there arent any hard drives installed on my computer, any ideas?

    Did you press F6 to load the SATA drivers?

    i did try pressing F6 when it finishes with the last disk, even the option doesnt come up! its that quick when its finished with the the last disc that i cant see the option to press F6 on the scroll bar along the bottom, there is stuff coming up on the scroll bar but after that a quick black screen and then that windows setup page

    You press F6 at the beginning of loading the FIRST disk (look at the bottom for the prompt), if I remember correctly.

    You press it then... and once the whole thing has loaded, it asks you to load 3rd party SCSI/RAID drivers.

    If you've got no data you need on the drive (which I gather you haven't) I'd start afresh with a new install.

    I'm in a similar situation to weng, but am reinstalling windows again.
    If you are just reinstalling windows and you keep the partition that is already on the raid array and just format it, and the utility/driver for that array is currently "functional" as it says, do you need to install the 3rd part utility/driver (in this case FastTrack 378 Bios/Promise Tech) again before installing windows ?
