Try Zoner Draw or Xara X (free 15 day trail) the Gimp/WinGimp of course. Doesn't Open Office have a drawing element to it?

*edit* For more a more 'painty' type app youve got to try Project Dogwaffle it's the dog's gonads.

Free drawing software for diagrams? You man like flow analysis or use case? There is a fairly nifty program out there... http://www.gadwin.com/ds/
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

well its really for a technology gcse
im using 2d design which is authorgrafic projection software

however i also wanted a more professional version of paint to do simple drawings of technicle things, as you get more points for representing problems\designs in different ways

im gonna give some of your suggestions a go though
if anyone has any more ideas then post em up!
    thanks
