    type edit $filename or notepad $filename or $application $filename

so notepad test.txt would open the file test.txt - or winword test.doc would open a word document
    It is Inevitable.....

when it says "C:\Document and Settings\General>" it means that your current folder is the General folder within you Docuemns and Settings folder. the first step in the instructions you linked to is to change your current directory to the folder where you downloaded the SP2. So, for example, if you downloaded SP to the folder \XP-SP2, you would need to type
    Code:
    cd \XP-SP2
Your screen should then say C:\XP-SP2. If you downloaded the service pack to a different drive, then you would also need to change to that drive. For example if you downloaded to the D: drive you would need to type
    Code:
    D:
    cd \XP-SP2
Then you can run the slipstreaming command. This requires that you have copied the entire contents of the CD to a folder on your hard drive. If you copied the CD in C:\XP-CD, then the slipstratming command would be
    Code:
    WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU /integrate:C:\XP-CD"
The instructions in your link assume that you are working on your D: drive, which is why there is a D in their examples.

you need to extract the boot image from your original CD with something like ISOBuster, or find a boot image on the net somewhere to use. I don't think boot floppy images work with Windows install CDs.
:edit: see WildMonkeys post for detailed instructions. ISOBuster here

The guide I was using said that. But I think the guide extracted the boot folder from the XP CD. I dont have one cause my CD is not bootable. Also i got the boot floppys but they wont work. How i hate floppys.

then you'll have to get your hands on a bootable XP CD, or find a boot image on the net somewhere.
