My understanding of Firewalls and cookie handling are very basic indeed. The security programs that i have on my system are set mostly in the default mode. They include; Norton AV,Kerio free firewall,Adawre se,Spybot SnD,Spyblaster,a squared,Winpatrol and my browser is ie with the Security settings all on Meduim apart from Restricted zone which is high of course! Now my question is are all these progs compatible with each other and which one is the master cookie handler? I thought it would be the Kerio FW and so i unchecked the 'enable web filtering' box. But i am unsure! Plz help! Many thanks in advance.

Should be fine, as long as you keep everything updated.

Should i turn off xp's cookie acceptance (pop up) window. And which cookies should i allow, session,first/third class?

I tried it about 6 weeks ago but i couldnt get to grips with it,so went back to the 'Devil i know'!. But i am willing to give it another go! Do you know of any easy to follow Firefox guides, or where i can DL some safe pre set rules for it? Very much appreciated!

dont really know about guides i thought it was fairly easy im not an advanced "browser" so the basics only for me

things i do know in forefox......

press ctrl and t will open u new tab in the window your in
holding shift while pressing a link will open it in a new tab
or drag the link to there the tabs are

if u mess around with it you its a great browser seems quicker than ie
but some websites will always require ie but not alot that i use

give it a try within a week or two i cant see u wanting to go back
my mum and mates ive installed it for prefer it

Create a new folder in Bookmarks > Bookmarks Toolbar Folder, entitled 'RSS Feeds'

When you come across an RSS feed you want to read, simply add it into this new folder. You will then have instant access to all your feeds, very handy.

norky i done your tip thing but when i try to view any of them it just comes up aload of xml stuff and says it has no body or somethin

I know you need them for things like passwords or if you want to buy an item off a site,but which cookies are the bad ones and how do i block them in firefox? Also it seems that my ie cookie settings have not transfered over to firefox!

There isn't really any 'bad' cookies. They are not a security problem.
