    Backup Software

I have an external hard disc for monthly backups (I do more regular dvds ones tho) and I want to make it easier/quicker to run a backup.

Want I want to do is have a program that I can run that will backup certain folders to the external disc but after the first time just copies any files that have changed or any new ones and not have to copy everything over like I do at the moment.

Is there any software out there that does this easily? I'm not worried about things like windows and programs as I will reinstall them I just want to do my docs and downloads etc.

    Thanks

Acronis True Image does incremental backups & only copies files changed since the date of the last backip iirc. Not a bad proggy.

I will have a longer look at that but it seems a bit overkill for what I need and it backups to a single file which I dont really want by the look of it.

If you grab a copy of this month's PC Pro, it comes with a great backup program on the cover dvd

Have a look at SyncBack or Cobian Backup for simplicity.

    Genie Backup Manager

I use it to back up to FTP servers but it does DVD images as well. It will backup Windows system configurations and Outlook email as well as your standard folders. It will check against previous backups for an update-only backup and also has numerous compression and encryption options.
