Best way to sort out my MP3 collection?

Right I have got about 5000 mp3's they are all in their artist folders but now that I have got my creative zen I want to find a program that will sort them into ( Artist / Album ) folders so I can play an album by itself.

Anyone know any good pieces of software?

    Hey
iTunes does that when you consolidate the library, if all the id3 tags are present. Be careful though not to delete the orginals until you are happy with the result tho. Ive used a program a while ago called "MP3 Folders", Im not sure if its still made now, but it was pretty effective. I think you can find it on download.co. BTW I'm a proud owner of a Zen Micro

Cheers mate, I will try those programs out. I love my zen micro, much better than the ipod mini I had. I get fantastic radio reception as well so thats all good. I cant wait for the wireless headphones to come out this summer though, should be good!

If you are brave enough to use it media tagger should allow you to rewrite the file names and store them in folders according to artist/album/genre/etc.

I know it seems strange, but I use WMP10 to do all my tagging

It works great for me, but thats because I make sure I have all the info on the tracks as I import them... then look it all up...

Gets me the nice cover pictures etc

so as long as the tacks had the artist and title in tags it would find the rest of the information?

It should find the rest... It can also find based on filename...

Just make sure you only use the "only update missing information" checkbox (think it's enabled by default)

The Godfather is the best things since sliced bread for organising MP3 Library's.
