What software is there to tell me what has been done on my pc, either on the pcs HDD or on a server?

tripwire and FAM are file alteration progam monitors.

What i really want is something that tells me what programs ahve been opened what websites have been visited etc

not sure how system audit and policy's work in XP.

But I'm %50 certain you used to be able to set audit events with custom configs, so for example log %user% and %application% when a .exe is executed

That was in 2000 though
