Any recommendations for a good & free anti-spam app?

    Hi!

I currently run K9 but it has a few annoying bugs and it havenät been updated for ages so now I'm looking for an alternative.

I love K9 because of it's small size (under 100kb) and the fact that it's free.

Any suggestions for a good, free and small (non-bloated) anti-spam program?

    /Matt

Id suggest thunderbird too, or if you want to go really hard core set up your own mail server and install spamassasin.

I did try it a few months ago but didn't really enjoy it that much. It was slow to startup and I also heard that the built-in antispam feature isn't that good. Maybe this has changed nowadays?

I only use firefox when surfing but Thunderbird didn't quite live up to my expectations...

Will there be a major upgrade to TB this autumn like v 1.5 of Firefox?

Ive never really had a problem with start up times, but then i never really take much notice, usually hit firefox and thunderbird at same time and only really pay attention to firefox. The antispam is good after a while, it does need a good month or 3 to get its filters right though, and seemingly forgets everything everytime you update.

I dont know if is "good". But Windows Antispyware Beta works with no problems.

And Xophile is right. Firefox is a good alternative to IE.

first off, i miss read the thread title. Sorry about that.

When i tried to understand why spam, i come to say "if my email get listed, any body can spam me". There are severals ways to get spammed. Registering on web sites with ur main email is one of those. Another, a little unknown way to get listed is running spyware. They can trace u, get info like names, emails, sites u visit, etc, etc. Soo, in a way, it has to do with spam. But, saying the truth, i missread the thread tittle.

If you register because you want to enter the competition, we'll only consider your entry if you make at least 5 constructive posts elsewhere in the community, a fair trade-off for a chance to win the card, I'm sure you'll agree.
Thats answer ur question Xophile. I don't like to fight people at any way, saying that, please, think before speak.

If u want to speak with me about anything, u can pm anytime.

Back on topic again, Xophile, i don't think than a prog will solve ur problems with spam. If u really get a lot of spam, change ur email, and create another one to use on websites. The first email should be only for friends and to important things, like for programs registrations.

Antispam programs? No, sorry, i don't get to much spam to need one, anyway, i will try to find some antispam programs to recomend u.
