    xp pro 64 bit or 32 bit

    i have new 64 bti pc but im not sure wether or not to use 64 bit os ive heard that windows 64 bit is unstable and slow what do you think i should do 32 or 64 bti windows

    stick with 32 unless you have a need to take an interest.

    I have both available to me on one system and have not really seen any benifit for "joe the average user" at this time.

    Windows XP 32 bit will support just about anything as all companies supply drivers for this mainstream operating system. Because winxp 64 is not mainstream there is much less support for it, so you may find that there are no drivers for the kit you use.

    32 bit is fine for all but the most esoteric individuals.

    i've been using 64bit for a while (4 months or so) - its not slow - by all accounts my completely stock system's 3d marks are slightly (~5%) ahead of average for the setup, but it is incompatible with some stuff, and honestly it has virtually no benefits. fun though

    I'n in the same boat and sounds fair enough. Though all my gear works fine bar my nokia 6680.
