is there lists of multithreaded apps/software?

is there any lists of popular applications that are multithreaded as ive now jumped on the dual core bandwagon and want to hammer them cores !

things like xvid to dvd encoders the likes of winavi , simple things

and dvd to xvid encoders probably auto gordianknot is that multithreaded?

and if theres no lists then submit and we shall make one !

The newest version of VirtualDub (a component of Gordian Knot, not fond of AutoGK myself) loads both cores during encoding jobs. But it's a bit hard to make a list of applications that are multi-threaded, the main types of programs that receive an actual benifit are media (video, 3d rendering and batch photos mainly), and networking deamons/servers.
Technically all popular Windows software is 'multi-threaded' in the definition that the program has more than 1 thread of execution. Weither those programs effectively ballance heavy work loads between threads is another matter.

7-zip handles threading pretty well, has support for the most common compression systems as well.

hmm only goes to about n70 to 80 percent but it sometimes compresses better than rar not sure if its quicker tho i will have to time different sizes and amounts of files

just too lazy , all seems to be working so will probably leave it be
