I installed linux the other day, but didn't really pay attention when I was doing it, and somehow installed the bootloader into the MBR of the wrong hard disk. It's converted it to a lrg access method (instead of LBA), and appears to have erased the original partition information, annoyingly.

The data that was on there was in the form of a compressed NTFS partition spanning the whole disk, and it was nearly full (60gb drive, 6gb free). Is there any way to get this data back? I have a backup, but it's a few weeks old and I really need something that was recently saved on there.

Can anyone help?

Cheers

Chris
