    Vista/XP Boot Problems

    Hi,

    I have two hard drives, one with XP, and one with Vista. I want it to boot from XP every time, yet it wants to give me the Vista OS select screen.
    The boot.ini file on my C:/ tells me to go to "BCDEDIT.exe to modify Windows Vista boot options"
    However, when I run that exe file nothing happens. There isn't even a mention of Vista in the boot.ini file.
    So how do I get it to boot straight to XP?!? I don't like having to sit here every time I boot up, poised ready to hammer the "up" arrow so it doesn't boot into Vista! (Default selected option is Vista).

    I hope some of the above makes sense, and would be grateful for any help!
    Thanks

    Jonny

    Didn't download it, and I'm not crying about it, because it is a beta after all.

    But thanks Mum.

    Think a possible solution could be recovery console, using fixboot.

    You need to run BCDEDIT from the command line.

    bcdedit /default {ntldr}

    That should do the trick (does for my Vista systems), but please read this first. Post back here with any problems and I'll help you out
