Is it possible to split the partition on my system drive?

My system drive (C) is a 120Gb's and has one full partition with an install of Windows XP MCE on it.

Is it now possible for me to make that split that partition to say have two partitions of 60Gb's, or is that not possible with an active drive?

I'm contemplating installing Vista RC1 and dual booting by splitting this drive would be my best bet, I think.

Yes mate you can split it, but you need to use something like partition magic as it will resize and move your existing data.

Eeek, are there any trial versions of Partition Magic? I don't fancy spending £40 on partition software just to try out Vista.

    Thanks for the tips guys!

Is it generally unsafe to resize a partition? Particularly on the system drive?

I'm wondering if I'm going to get myself into more trouble that it's worth.

Its not that unsafe mate, just make sure you back up! You never can be too careful!

I have resized partitions before many times and never had problems, but you can never be too careful
