    Microsoft Word recovery document locations?

    Hi,

I've had someone ask me a question... basically they have been working on a document in Word for ages, storing it on a USB pen and not keeping a backup. However, they've now lost the USB pen.

I know that MS word keeps temporary documents to help with recovery etc, but where does it keep those recovery files if you're using it on a USB pen? Will it keep it in a temp folder on the system HDD, or would it have kept it on the pen drive itself?

it'll have kept it in a temp file, location set by the Word install. Which version of Word is it?

No idea, she didn't tell me, but I'll see if I can find out. Will probably be on Monday now though.
