    Ah! Here's what I'm looking for: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...342889-7360463

Doesn't say how much it is yet, but I want to get it when it's new this time around so at least it'll last me a good few years.

I reckon £100 max for the Ultimate would be a good price. Microsoft put too high a price on software that will sell really well. They should think about ordinary folk who can't afford £300+

to be fair "ordinary" folk buy the OEM versions.

The OEM home cheapo edition will be well bellow £100 mark.

As most oridenary folk spend at least £300 on a PC, thats not going to really be un-realistic. (thou a £300 PC having VISTA spec is)

I bet it will be cheaper by then! No way i would pay that for an upgrade. No wonder people are already using pirate copies!

I don't get charged until the item has dispatched (end of Jan) so there's plenty of time to shop around.

I think you have been too eager to order now. Best to wait till they are out. Vista Ultimate is awesome! My mate has it. Pirates of the carribean version

I might go for the Home Premium myself.

Toying between business and ultimate as I need to be able to add to my domain. Will probably buy Business, but will be using RC2 until then

Can't the person ring up and re-activate the software?

My understanding is that you cannot.

They are planning to treat OEM as strictly as possible.

I'd love to hear they've changed their minds though.

No i think they got rid of that because a lot of system enthusiasts and builders (like me) complained about that as they often replace hardware.

I personally am going to get Home Premium sometime on OEM. retail is NO GO!

indeed, just ridiculous what stupid amount of cash MS charge for an OS.

I'm going to get Business Upgrade myself.

Does any1 know if an win 98/ME CD would suffice for when setup asks you to pop in a disk?

So, an OEM version would be ok? I am after the Home Premium. I do change my hardware often though so would that be ok?
