Old browsers for testing web sites

Hey guys, does anyone know where I can download old versions of browsers e.g IE 6 for testing websites. I have designed a new portfolio website and got it working great in the latest versions of IE , Firefox, Opera and Netscape.
Then a mate pointed out that it was really buggy in IE 6 because it doesn't handle CSS very well and I had no idea.
So rather than getting my mate to send me screenies every time I try a fix does anyone know a better way?
I'm aware that online services exsist for browser compatablity test but they are expensive.
Also setting up a dedicated test rig is not an option either.

How about a virtual machine. I think Microsoft was offering one free. Don't remember if its IE6 or 7 though, though I think it's 6.

That's your browser archive however I would strongly recommend that you grab VMWare server and try the browsers on virtual machines - multiple versions of IE really don't play happy together

QEMU, VMWare or similar is probably the best way to go about it - just have three different images for IE5, IE5.5 and IE6.

Personally, I use WINE to test those three versions, but I suspect that is none too practical for Windows!

On a slightly different note, if you want to test your website on OS's that you don't have access to, then BrowserShots is a good web resource - they access your website and take screenshots for you to show the layout.
