About 3-4 months ago..
I've changed my mind. I'll wait until the fallout has settled and we know which if any of these alarmist blogs/articles about DRM or anything else have any merit.
Also, I'll wait until various drivers are mature enough to be worth it.
"In a perfect world... spammers would get caught, go to jail, and share a cell with many men who have enlarged their penises, taken Viagra and are looking for a new relationship."
In a few months, but then I've heard I might be able to get Vista for free from work.
I got a question so could anyone help me out: does Vista have SATA drivers built in, as I understand that XP didn't have native support..
XP SP2 certainly has native support for SATA (just not SATA RAID), so I would bet Vista does as well.
I'll be upgrading as soon as I can really.
I need to know all about it for work reasons and as such gimme the ulitmate please and whack it on my visa
there's no such thing as "native support for sata", since every controller has its own drivers (there's no generic IDE driver the way there is for PATA controllers)
SP2 introduced basic drivers for a number of common controllers, but there's no commonly used standard ("AHCI" is supposedly a standard, but not in common use)
when theres reason to i guess which will probably be when a few good dx10 games finally get released, other than that i dont see any reason for me personally to upgrade.
I'll upgrade when there's info out there on how to fix the awful mess they made of the Explorer Shell.
Classic Folders FTW.
I'll probably move to Vista when i get a new laptop. this may or may not be this year, depends on funds... or how fooling with the credit card i am when in the US this summer.
I'll probably get a laptop with Basic Home (or something) and whack on Premium from my Action Pack sub. If i don't like it i can easily put XP on it.
Seen as though there seems to be quite a few different versions coming out, if I have the following PC, what is the best version of Vista that I should be looking at?
AMD 3000+ 64 Bit
1GB Ram
120GB Hard Drive
128MB ATI 9800 All In Wonder (unlocked to pro )
I mainly need to know whether 32 or 64 is the way to go!
Thanks
