Thanks dangel, I'll be downloading this today!
Just remember to use MPEG videos - WMV encoded vids use a deal more CPU time (due to the decoding overhead).
I thought this was pointless but tbh after using it for a few weeks (on beta program) i'm pretty much hooked - so long as you've got the right vid to go with it. I did try a first-person rollercoaster video and er.. that wasn't the best thing to have chosen
Bugger it, it seems there is a downside to installing Vista on a PC that's over 3 years old:
"Windows DreamScene cannot run because the total desktop size exceeds the primary video adapter's maximum texture size."
I run my desktop as 1280x768 on a widescreen display. Doesn't seem to want to know, if I turn the resollution down it works but that's no good to me. Boo hoo!
I got it working! Turns out my graphics card couldn't handle it when I used dual displays, if I disable my CRT and just use the LCD it works a treat!
This ol' 9800XT still has some life in its legs yet!
Darn tootin'!
I'm actually finding this Ultimate Extra better than I thought I would, it looks so cool!
Very happy that it works so well on my donkey year old PC too. It's handy that you can pause the wallpaper too, I sometimes pause it on a scene that I like that results in just a nice static background, then un-pause it later on.
Any idea if this supports multiple monitor setups yet? I played with the beta version which was single monitor only, but that made it pointless to me. With multi monitor support this would be pretty darn cool
