What I'm most interested in is if they can combine the WiiMote with the Wii balance board thing, and maybe the nunchuk aswell. Could make for some interesting control methods, some form of weird surfing/fps hybrid thing.....

As long is it's less than 100, maybe 120 if I'm feeling generous, I'll probably pre-order it.
120 quid?! Not a cat in hells chance, more like 40-50.
For that sort of money Nintendo would have to create some sort of home gym which makes you look like a wrestler within weeks. They arent silly enough to price themselves out of the market. Itll probably cost more than regular games, but your in for a nice suprise if your expecting to pay that much.
Nintendo are always inventive with controls, so surfing/shooting/looking incredibly silly to all those watching you is definitely on the cards.
£120?!onetwenty!1
No chance.
The tools are in place now though for Ninty to work their magic. Wiimote + Wii Wheel + Wii Zapper + Wii Board + Nintendo gameplay + Miyamotos brain = magical things!
And while the gamers are sword fighting, and snowboarding, the fat moms are doing arm curls. Its genius.
Capture the casual market, keep the gamers happy = ker-ching.
Good old Nintendo.
That £120 is pulled out of someone's arse so don't worry!
I know, it was suprise that he would even consider paying £120.
only thing that has annoyed me is the fact that in the promo video you don't see any of the 'actor's holding any hand held controllers and yet you see the computer animated charachter on screen seem to respond to hand movements made by the real-life actor. All I'm wondering is if all the movement is solely done on the 'balance board' and there's no real upper body workout involved..if you follow what I mean?
I definitely saw a pressup exercise in there, but yes the majority did seem to be focused on balance and lower body movements. I think the syncronised hand movements were just...erm...creative advertising.
Im sure Nintendo will do their best to cater for all - this game is mainly designed to get as many gamers/non-gamers as possible to buy a wii after all.
Regarding price, according to CVG, e-tailer guestimates put it at $70, $20 above a regular game (that's for the wii fit game with bundled balance board).
If that's right I'd guess a UK rrp of around 50-60ukp. Probably going to have to wait until next year though, although I imagine the speculative Jan 08, as others have said, is only a placeholder date with nothing firm atm.
I've still not bought a wii but am getting increasingly tempted. Just worried the novelty will wear off quickly & we'll have yet another little used gadget kicking about.
I've intentionally avoided looking too closely up to now. I'm a gadget freak so I need to keep away from toys unless I think they'll get good use - got a pair of Projumpers in the hallway I've not used in over six months.
Also when it comes to consoles & gaming I love pretty graphics & power - wii doesn't have either. However before you say it, it's become obvious it has amazing game play. Everyone I talk to who's played one loves it. The guys in all my local game shops are happy to tell me not to touch the ps3 atm but will rave about the wii.
The last thing that put me off was that my wife Cheryl said she'd feel too silly playing on it, but she seems to have been won over too in the last month so now it's just a matter of time.
There aren't any price cuts lined up atm (going by the rumour mill) are there?
Can you recommend any games?
I usually don't like sporting games but with the wii will have to give them a go as they seem to generate the most positive comments.
Mostly I go for rpgs & some platform/adventure/puzzle games; maybe a bit of survivial horror too. Generally I hate fps, though play the odd one as that seems to be (in respect of the 360) where much of the cutting edge prettiness is at.
Oh, here's my fave ps3 quote:
Me in Game: How's sales of the ps3 going?
Guy behind counter: Well, put it this way, I've sold mine.
Ive no idea when there are going to be price cuts...but if the 360 has its price slashed (again no idea when) then the wii may have to follow. Pure, unninformed speculation though.
From the games I own I can only really recommend Zelda from the types you want, although there may be some other gems that I dont know about. I keep going back to play Wii Sports, despite it being a cheap, bundled launch game. Resident Evil 4 and Mario Strikers both get good reviews, but may not be what you want. Sounds like you'll be getting Mario Galaxy (November 30th) though so waiting till Xmas may be the best option.
Love the PS3 quote...must remember that one...

Hmm, Zelda, Resident Evil 4 & Mario Galaxy all sound appealing, though I'm not too sure of the fact the latter is mostly set on small planetoids.
I really hope it will be possible for games to use both the balance board & other controllers at the same time - fighting surfing zombies would be so cool
did feel mine beefing me up when i first bought it
its for sale now, just dont have the time to spend infront of a tv
Sponsored by; Atbshop, Foilzone, Flysurfer
WiiFit definately sounds interesting, especially if you can lose weight effectively (without having to be on there 10 hours a day)
WiiSports for me is just sitting on the chair throwing my arms about lol...I need something to keep me moving.
