    spurs finaly beat us gooners

here is my intake of the game.

our defence let the whole team down period. yes we diddnt create that much clear cut chances but your gunna have to question spurs goals. they where all goals that could have been dealt with more then half the premierships sides here.

the whole defence including gallas was shambles and made even defoe look like a god striker with his cameo role.

our worse player was probably diaby. i diddnt realise how bad he was till this game. everytime he had the ball he ruined our rythme by him loosing the ball too cheaply or not releasing the ball earlier enough.

as a verdict to the game i will probably be the first and only arsenal fan to say well done to spurs for reaching the final. they deserved it and its about time they beat us.

And I dont buy into the "just kids" excuse, there were plenty of 1st teamers in there.

Wenger said after he wanted to win the match, but knowing Arsenal had been outplayed at the Emirates he still started with Fabregas and Eduardo on the bench.

He underestimated Tottenham and didnt learn from the 1st leg. His ignorance was to blame for Arsenals exit.

Was funny to see gooner fans leaving after just 60 mins, I laughed out loud.

Re: spurs finaly beat us gooners

yes we had some first team players in there but our team was abit unbalanced because players like diaby did not understand how hleb plays. there where countless times where hleb ran into good space and diaby too slow to pick him up.

for walcott it just wasnt his day, he hardly had a sniff off the ball. as soon as he got the ball he was surrounded by white shirts.

lets see if spurs can beat manu. there due to beat manu too

Re: spurs finaly beat us gooners

Wenger has always said he'd stick by the youth team that got to the semi finals. It's invaluable experience for them and I expect him to do the same next year. As a gooner I switcher over at half time because I could see what was coming, there just isn't another option when playing that young a team who struggled in the first leg. Imho we need another centre back and a defensive/holding midfield player in order to compete in the last half of the season and especially for games like these.

I have to give credit to Spurs though, they were well up for it and the job Ramos has done to get them fit, motivated and playing decent football is quite amazing. Changing Robinson and getting Dawson and King's partnership back is a big step forward. I expect Ledley king to be picked for the England game against Switzerland he's playing that well now. They may even get a chance at keeping Berbatov if they can climb the table and Liverpool don't hold on to 4th place and that 4th place spot becomes a 4 or even 5 way mini league next year.

Re: spurs finaly beat us gooners

Emmanuel Adebayor appeared to butt Arsenal team-mate Nicklas Bendtner during Tuesday's 5-1 Carling Cup semi-final second leg defeat to Spurs.

The Togolese striker came on as a second-half substitute during the Gunners' disappointing exit from the competition, and with the side already 4-0 down by the time he was introduced his frustration eventually got the better of him.

As the pair waited for Cesc Fabregas to swing in a late corner Adebayor suddenly lashed out at Bendtner partner, cutting the Danish striker's nose and forcing shocked team-mates to step in and pull the warring duo apart.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger claimed afterwards that he had not see the incident saying: "I don't know what you're talking about."

    Mistake

But club captain William Gallas witnessed the clash at close quarters and admitted that the behaviour of the duo was unacceptable.

"They know they have made a mistake and they will have to explain why they did that," the Frenchman said in The Sun.

"I don't know exactly what happened. I think everyone was disappointed about the score. It was very difficult to accept.

"They are both young and nervous but they have to understand. We lost our calm."

Match referee Howard Webb took no action against either player at the time but the pair could still face disciplinary action after the footage has been studied by an FA panel.
    from the sun.

if this is true then i am completely shocked by bothe ade and bendters attitude. they should be suspended for a couple of weeks with no pay. its already a disgrace that we lost so heavily againts spurs and now this?

Even though i am a Man U fan, i did enjoy the game and not just because the Gooners got a spanking (Well, infact thats a lie), but i was impressed with Spurs attacking Football, but with the players they have in the offesive line that was always going to happen to someone, having said that they wont be able to sustain it because of the poor defensive performances, its not even that there back 4 are bad players its just that they are average .

    But ... Well played Spurs

Despite the two fighting Arsenal players, Wenger sending "kids" (yeah right? they were first team players!) to the slaughter etc etc, Numpty of the night award goes to.....

Paul Merson for his idiotic post match comments when he said, TWICE, in a serious, genuine tone, "il tell you what, a couple of Spurs players would even make the first team Arsenal squad!!!!" (he said it as if currently Arsenal were the Brazil 1970 team! and were the absolute pinnacle of footballing anywhere, ever).

yes Paul, just a couple of Spurs might scrape into a squad of a team they have just beaten 5-1. Paul Merson what a ****!

Re: spurs finaly beat us gooners

    Just seen this thread..

Was lucking enough to be at the game on Tuesday night. What can I say, it was almost surreal. Right up until 10 mins to go, we were saying its not over yet, we can still lose it It still hasnt really sunk in to be honest.

I thought we countered really well, and our defence certainly didn't look as nervous as it usually does. Ramos has certainly impressed in the little while he's been in charge.

I still have a big smile on my face and ringing in my ears
