    Recommend me... Astroturf boots!

    Morning all,
Well as it stands I have a tired looking pair of Adidas +F10's wich i picked up for around £20. I now find myself playing 5's twice a week and looking for a bit more feel from my astros. I am looking for recommendations for under £40 (though I would love a pair of Team Mundials), and ideally (although not essential) available easily from the highstreet so i can try them on.
    Thanks in advance guys!

I think really it's just a matter of personal taste, best to head into a highstreet shop and try some on

Thanks for the reply, and I understand it varies alot in terms of personal preferance for fit. It was really in the hope that someone had useful experience on level of feel/touch on striking the ball because its not always obvious on how good they will be without using them in anger!

Guess it also depends on what kind of player you are. A silky forward attacking player will want a light pair of boots that give him good control and aren't too heavy.
I'm more of a defensive player so I look for a boot that will give me comfort and protection.

    Re: Recommend me... Astroturf boots!

Thanks firstly to Zak for highlighting my plight!

I am more of a forward minded player so it is predominantly about the feel that the boot gets me. I must admit the puma kings do look good, I will have to check them out when Im next in town.

The one thing I have noticed is how few astro boots there are with a reasonably soft leather outer, most seem quite hard or synthetic. I guess this would be to durability for contact with the astro turf, but surely im not the only person who would sacrifice some life from the boot to get a better feel.

Thanks again guys, and any more suggestions are more than welcome

    Re: Recommend me... Astroturf boots!

just in case anyone is interested I picked up a pair of Nike CTR360 Libretto Turf's and first impressions are very good. The fit is very good for me and the level of feel is very high. I also found I was getting a very good contact when striking the ball (possibly down to the asymetrical lacing?).
All in all a thumbs up from me

    Re: Recommend me... Astroturf boots!

what surface do you play on mate?

i play on 3g and use moulded(HG) puma kings, paid £75 for them, but noticed these http://www.sendit.com/10073829.html - only size 7,8,9 left atm.

if you play on carpet/sand then i'd say just go with any astroturf trainer you can find.

but if you can wear HG/FG boots on your surface, then i'd definitly recommend them.

    Re: Recommend me... Astroturf boots!

Thanks for the suggestion. Im playing on rubber based astroturf (not sure the official generation). Its long enough to get away with fg boots, but unfortunately the leagues and pitches dont allow it.
Finally got some ctr360 libretto TF's as above and I get a resonable level of traction. So far so good
