Depends on the controller and how much spare space they're not telling you about.

If above is true, does having one partition nearly full affect the whole SSD performance or just the partition that's nearly full?
It would only be a whole volume effect, and depending on the above.

Intel is one of the worst offenders for your drive slowing as your run out of space.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

My own use. Safe to say its not only Intel who suffer from this. Sandforce based drive usually come with less space for example than other drives as they reserve around 20GB's for spare area yet cost the same as more capacious drives.

If you look too the left I've only got the 40GB drive, generally size=speed when it comes to SSD's so my 40GB experience may only be relative to 40GB drives.

I've had BF:BC2 installed on my SSD and for online play loadtimes were no different as far as i can tell and so i didnt bother trying any other games - there are reviews out there that show SSD's are faster for games however.

In response to speed degredation i noticed the slowing down when i had around 1GB left free and while probably faster for usage than a HDD it definitely lost its 'snappy' feel.

Yes, Bf:BC2 loads fine for me off a standard Samsung HDD - especially now theyve added the 15 second delay online as well so any speed gains are negated.

Re: Kingston v+ ssd vs intel x25m g2 ssd

I've got the 80GB Intel in my laptop and a 160GB in a new desktop I build a couple of months ago. Very happy with both, but neither disk is more than 70% full.
