    Question Cant see my 5200

    Hi,

I am trying to establish the first connection between my network and the 5200. My problem is the 5200 hundred is not visible on the network I have tried via IP address 192.168.1.100 and also used the supplied prgram on the CD ROM. The IP address does not connect and the CD ROM prgram installed normally but did not find the 5200

One clue - If I try to ping the device @ 192.168.1.100 - No repsonse

Other than that, no obvious problems everything appears to be working....

Front LCD is not showing any apparent errors.

    Light status
    All LEDs appear normal
front panal network status LED is solid Green. I have two installed hard drives both drives have solid blue LEDs

The WAN connection (back of 5200) shows lighted solid orange and yellow LEDs

I must be missing something simple

    Daer Sir,

The N5200 WAN port preset at 192.168.1.100, since power up N5200 about 1~2 mins with a beep sound which means N5200 powe up successfully.
If your PC IP address is 192.168.1.xxx, please direct connection with network cable to N5200 WAN port, and open a browser to access 192.168.1.100
If your PC IP address doesn't in the segment, please confirm we unblocked the Thecus Setup Wizard since first start from windows, and via setup wizard to rearch N5200.

If above stpes doesn't working, please contact with your reseller for replacemnet or checking possible issue.

    Yvon.

    Re: Cant see my 5200

I had a similar problem as my router and computers were using a different network segment. I had to rename the WAN port IP address on the NAS server to my network segment and reconnect. Check your PC and router IP address then set the WAN port to x.y.z.254 and the LAN port to x.y.z+1.254 where x, y and z are the values of your local network. The documentation uses 192.168.1.n as the base address, whereas my router started at 192.168.2.n which coincidentally was the LAN address. Once I remapped the ports, I was able to access the NAS server. I hope this helps.
