I noticed that the N7700 has an available expansion slot. Anyone know if the expansion slot will support a video card?
Thanks.

In theory yes.
What kind of slot is it though? Is it PCI or PCI-e?
If i remember right it is PCI, so finding a graphics card for it isn't going to be easy. You will also have to add some sort of drivers to the N7700. As the N7700 by standard has no graphics output, the kernel and OS is probably missing all the modules you would normally find in even a basic standard Linux setup.
Unfortunitely I don't know enough Linux to tell you any more.
I'll have to crack it open to take a look. I'll post pics. as soon as i get a chance. if that will help. I'm thinking of running openfiler with the hardware but will have to get a larger flash ide drive.

PCI-E x1 videocard works great
GOAL: get openfiler working on the N7700
After upgrading the flash disk module, adding a video card, upgrading memory, and using a USB CD-ROM drive, I got openfiler (32bit) installed. for the most part, the installation went without a hitch.
The problems i ran into are all driver issues. The following components did not have drivers loaded by openfiler:
Intel 82574L Gigabit Ethernet Controller link
I was able to locate the drivers for the NIC, but have not had a chance to test them yet.
i was able to get connectivity, but only after assigning an IP manually. After that, i was able to configure it via the web interface.
Marvel 88SE63xx / 64xx storage adapter
The storage adapter is the real pain. So far i have not been able to find any drivers for this thing. Marvel is not releasing drivers to end users for anything that is not on their website. Thecus is not helping either.
so i'm asking for some help. anyone have any ideas where for find drivers for the storage adapter?
Thanks.
Can you not take the drivers from the normal firmware? Or even the source tar?
